How to Allow File Uploads with Specific File Extensions?

This section describes the steps required to configure file upload restrictions by allowing only certain file extensions in the docuWeaver application.

Steps to Configure Allowed File Extensions

  1. Access the docuWeaver application via the Salesforce App Launcher.

  2. From the Setup page, locate and open the storage profile where file upload restrictions need to be applied.

  3. In the storage profile settings, find the Allowed Extensions option. Select the file extensions that should be permitted for upload.

  4. Click Save to apply the changes.

After completing these steps, users will only be able to upload files with the specified extensions to the selected storage profile, enhancing file security and compliance.

For example,

  • Amazon S3 Storage Profile:
    Allowed extensions: .pdf, .docx, .xlsx
Only files with these extensions can be uploaded to Amazon S3 via docuWeaver.

  • Local Storage Profile:
    Allowed extensions: .jpg, .png, .gif
Only image files with these extensions are permitted for upload to local storage.

Note: File extensions can be allowed or restricted for each specific storage profile, such as Amazon S3. For every storage profile created and used, the configured file extension settings will apply accordingly, ensuring that file uploads comply with the respective restrictions of that storage profile.
