How to Create a Rollup?

The image above shows the PWR Rollups home page, where you can create rollups to perform aggregation on multilevel objects according to your requirements.

How to Create a New Rollup:

  1. After successful installation, click on the App Launcher and select the PWR Rollups application to open it.

  1. In the PWR Rollups application, the “Get Started” tab provides users with quick access to essential information and resources related to this package. This tab includes various documents and content to help you get started with creating your first rollup.

  1. To create a rollup action click on the New button.

  1. Enter the Action Name, API name and Description to identify the purpose of this rollup. Then select the Source Object from the ‘Source to Destination Object’.

  1. Select the related object to determine the destination object.

Note: You can go up to 5 levels of object hierarchy here.

  1. After selecting the object, click on the Next button.

  1. Click the Add Rollup button to add the Rollup Type, Source Object Field, and Destination Object Field.

  1. Here users can select the Rollup Type as Count, Count Distinct, Sum, Average, Advanced Maximum, Advanced Minimum, Concat, List and more.

  1. Select the source field and destination field.

References: If you do not have a destination field created, you can directly Create new field from rollup page.

  1. The user can create multiple rollup actions under the same object hierarchy just by clicking on the ‘Save & New’ button.

  1. You can add multiple filter conditions and add custom logic to calculate specific records.

  1. Check the checkbox to activate the rollup or uncheck it to deactivate.

  1. Click Save button to save the rollup.

Note: After successfully creating a rollup,

  • If you have earlier records data present for the object hierarchy you have chosen, it must be recalculated using recalculation. For this, you have to create a recalculation record.

  • Please check the Rollup Actions section for actions that you can carry out on these rollups.
